    • Larry Ayre

Larry Ayre is a singer and guitarist. Born in Montreal, he became interested in playing music in the 1960s when his brother started singing in a teen band that had some success playing high school dances. He recalls “The music of the time was dominated by the hits of the Beatles, but local bands always started out playing blues, because that was what you could play!” Larry was a big fan and he started collecting and repairing his brother’s old harmonicas, his first instruments. With his brother’s band set up and practising in the basement of the family home, he also experimented with guitar, bass and piano.

    • The Ruskins

Steve and Viv Ruskin, in their over 35 years as a duo, have been influenced by many musicians and genres. Sharing a love for numerous musical styles, they are always discovering more. The Ruskins slide comfortably from ballads to blues, Celtic to contemporary, rockabilly to reggae, folk to jazz, with originals and a dash of Latin added to the mix.

Though Steve is an acoustic piano player at heart, the more portable keyboards have opened up a world of multi-instrumental opportunity, allowing the most effective sounds for each song. He also plays a mean harmonica!

Vivian’s musical roots came from generations steeped in the songs of the prairies and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her strong and versatile lead vocals are complemented by Steve’s tasteful vocal harmonies. She adds guitar to the instrumental mix.

The Whiskeydicks use fiery Celtic-gypsy fiddle licks, cello played like a bass, bombastic trumpet, vivacious drum beats, energetic guitar strumming, and voice to tell stories of good times past and to play songs people know but in a way they’d never imagine.

    • Nice Horse - Concert & Dance

Nice Horse is what happens when four bold, brilliant, and badass women get together to raise a little hell—and play a little music at the same time. This Alberta-based band, made up of Brandi Sidoryk (bass/vocals), Katie Rox (guitar/banjo/vocals), Tara McLeod (electric guitar), and Krista Wodelet (drums/vocals), is out to turn on the country music world and show the guys that they can rock—and party—just as hard. Sure there are plenty of strong female country artists in Daisy Dukes out there, but try to name another self-contained unit that plays their own instruments and writes songs as potent as”Jim, Jack, Johnnie & Jose,” the band’s roof-raising single “Pony Up,” and the new feminist anthem “Mansplainin'”.
